"A Day At The Beach"

This is what life is all about. Kids and family. Enjoy!

"Standing Tall"

I was inspired by this photograph this morning because of a bad start to the day. Finding out that my daughter and granddaughter have lice. Must be an icky feeling. Sooooooo...while they are both lined up in the back yard, and the the rest of us spraying the whole house with lice spray, they're hair is being treated with RID! During all of this, the cat got out, she just had a litter a couple of months ago, is howling in the bushes, I'm sure of total pleasure, with another cat. We have wanted to get her fixed...well you know how that goes. So...I sat down and worked on this image, trying to let my Prozac kick in, and build up courage to get through the rest of the day. I can, or not, imagine what the ladies are going through. Here it is. Enjoy!

"The Skunk Train"

"The Skunk Train" Re-post in my technique. To let you know how in tune my wife and I are, she came home from work the other night and asked if I would consider re-doing the skunk train in the vintage look. As it turned out, I worked on it earlier that day and was able to show her when she asked. Ironic isn't it! So here it is. Enjoy

"Beautiful Ferndale"

I loved my visit to Ferndale. It is a beautiful little town in the Northern California area. If you ever have a chance to visit, check it out. Enjoy!

"Coquille River Lighthouse"

"Coquille River Lighthouse" Lighthouses have been a favorite of mine for years. My dream is to photograph as many of them as possible. Here is one of my favorites.

Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament-Sacramento, CA

Thought I'd share this one. Took it a while back and have just posted it recently. Love the results! Have two different versions of it, but love this one. So...I hope you all enjoy it as I do.

Another Ride

Diane and I decided to go for a ride Yesterday. 310 Miles. Started out at 7:30AM. Church, Diane sings in the choir. Breakfast at our favorite place. Met and talked with friends we haven't seen. Drove to Jackson, to Silver Lake, to Caples Lake, Hope Valley, Genoa NV, Carson City NV, Lake Tahoe and home. Had a great day. Long one! Only stopped a couple of times for pictures. Had a wonderful time together. Enjoy!

Found my Style

I think I found a style I really enjoy working with. I will definitely search out scenes that will work well with this. It's not a difficult technique. I combine B&W and sepia, antique, photos with the original and use a white vignette with it. It really works well. I won't stop using HDR or some of the other techniques I have used in the past. But this certainly hits the top of my chart. Enjoy!

Penn Valley Area

Last year Diane and I took a ride to the Penn Valley, CA area just west of Auburn, CA looking for a covered bridge. I got some wonderful pictures of the bridge, but on the ride we went through French Corral, CA and eventually Bloomfield, CA. As I am organizing my Lightroom catalog and more program, I'm finding more of these pictures and have been excited to work with them. I have always had an interest in the past. More and more in the California history. So as I find these wonderful images I will share them with. I have added a look that I feel gives the image a more vintage look. Maybe something like the old west. Enjoy!

I Think I' Getting It!

Here are a couple of images I have been working on with the new or continuing technique. I really think I'm getting the results I'm looking for. I think it will work nicely on a lot of images, but not all. I will have to be selective or photograph specifically for this method of fine art. I have really had a great time working on this technique. I hope to continue experimenting with it. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed working on them.

"Just Over The Horizon"

OK...You might think I'm not doing well today, but I really feel great! I couldn't resist this one though. Enjoy!

"Stormy Weather"

I really like the effect I got from this photograph. Actually, I'm liking it a lot. I love the drama of it. Again this is an effect I've been working on and liking it more and more. Combining a B&W copy with the colored one and getting some awesome effects. Enjoy!

"Another Bridge to Cross"

I took this picture a few years ago. Another one I liked but didn't know what to do with it. I guess it says a lot to me today. Trying to find a new future, different than the years past. I love photography and really want to do something with it. I guess this says it all for me right now. Maybe to a lot of us? Enjoy!
